Fun Run for Road Safety: Supported by the City of Antipolo

The Second OneA Fun Run for Road Safety will take place on May 13, 2012 at OneA Center, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo. This fun run is organized by different individuals and organizations who are advocating road safety. The 3k, 5k and 10k run will start at OneA Event Center on Sumulong Highway and will finish at University Avenue. The 12k run will end at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. Registration will start at 5:00 am.

The city of Antipolo is supporting the event. There will be a 3k, 5k, 10k and 12k run. According to organizer Alvin Carranza, “This activity will also commemorate the first death anniversary of journalist/professor Chit Simbulan, who died from a car accident on Commonwealth Avenue.” Professor Simbulan’s husband is also one of the organizers, and was also present at the first fun run several months ago.

There will be a Php 300 registration fee. Proceeds of the run will be allotted for safety signs that will be installed in different locations and for infrastructure.

This activity aims to raise awareness and understanding of road safety problems, traffic safety legislation, enforcement of traffic laws, and the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of road safety activities.
