Maria Hanna Concepcion Jaber – Online Community Manager

This former Kabataan News Network reporter is also an excellent editor.

Dante Gagelonia - Project Coordinator

Dante used to teach in the Department of English and Comparative Literature, College of Arts and Letters, University of the Philippines Diliman. Since then his work life has taken many divergent turns: fashion, product promos, construction and real estate marketing, and even game development. But at heart Dante is an editor, saving the world with correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Regina Layug-Rosero – Project Coordinator

There is nothing simple or boring about this lady. A fan of Star Wars, she and the 501st Legion choose to live out the epic saga by donning stormtrooper costumes for Lucasfilm events and charities such as Make-A-Wish Foundation Philippines, and the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng. Outside the sci-fi world, she manages projects, writes and dotes on her cats.

Yasmin Mapua-Tang – Training and Logistics Supervisor

Yas has been the Executive Director of Probe Media Foundation, Inc. (PMFI) for the past eight years. Before that, she was a producer for 5 & Up, the multi-awarded educational children’s show of Probe Productions, Inc., and a host of Game Plan. She’s the ultimate “mother of projects,” and enjoys bringing together professional and aspiring journalists for media training. Nothing beats her role as a mother to her two girls, Nayla and Danielle, though. She takes pleasure in simple bonding time with them, like reading Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham to them. There’s also a sporty side to her: when she was 11 years old, Yas was a member of the National Gymnastics Team.

Eva Callueng – Writer
Eva, or Bubbles, is the bubbly Barangay Secretary of Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City. She loves teaching, so she works as a part-time faculty member at the University of the East, and she also tutors regularly. She enjoys cooking and whipping up dish after dish, as long as it doesn’t include meat (she’s a pescetarian). September doesn’t go by without her birthday ritual: donating blood.
Dr. Grace Cruz – Editorial Board
Dr. Grace Cruz is the current director of the University of the Philippines Population Institute. She helps her father manage his school and finds satisfaction in the opportunity to mold future generations. Plus, she gets to spend time with her septuagenarian dad. This multitasker still finds time to devour books (the last one she read was Confessions of a Shopaholic) and dance. She’s extremely proud to have a great family.
Isabelle Ereñeta – Media and Events/Political Engagement Supervisor
Aissa makes her life more interesting (and happier!) by veering away from the conventional. Convinced that she can change the world, she’s out there working with various organizations in advocating education, citizenship, democracy and good governance. Where does she get the extra energy? Through her quirky meditation routine: playing Tetris! Try beating her high score of 5,174,719.

There is nothing simple or boring about this lady. A fan of Star Wars, she and the 501st Legion choose to live out the epic saga by donning stormtrooper costumes for Lucasfilm events and charities such as Make-A-Wish Foundation Philippines, and most recently, for the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng. She even met her fiancée because of Star Wars, and they’re getting married in February 2010, Star Wars-style! Outside the sci-fi world, she manages projects, writes (get this, she’s a features correspondent for Playboy Philippines) and dotes over her 5 cats who are as curious as she is.
Liwliwa Malabed – Writer
For as long as she can remember, Liwliwa Malabed has been telling stories—her classmates crowding around her as she drew stick figures to accompany her hyperactive imagination. These days, she prefers to write them. A member of KUTING (Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting), she co-authored the 2006 National Book Award’s Best Reference Book and Gintong Aklat Award’s Best Children’s Book, 100 Questions Filipino Children Ask. She also wrote scripts for Probe Production’s travelogue Cheche Lazaro Presents, ANC’s travel show Asian Air Safari, ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) and children’s show SIRIT!
Carlo Ople – Web development and Marketing
Do you have a Friendster account? Carlo Ople is the Global Digital Marketing Head for Friendster, and also the Managing Director of Catalyst, Inc. This guy pours passion into everything he engages in (from work to ballroom dancing) and you can get a glimpse of that in a YouTube video of his proposal to Michelle, his girlfriend of 9 years.
